Coyote vs. Dragon

It’s a story about climate change and it’s effects on the four food chiefs. Coyote goes to dragon’s castle to destroy him to protect the people, but he ends up finding out something he never knew before. I wrote this ten-minute story in my NAPAT Traditional Storytelling class at the En’owkin Centre. I’ve performed it at the Shatford Centre, the Penticton Art Gallery, and the En’owkin Centre.

Coyote and Eagle

This story has been passed down many generations. Coyote wants to be able to fly like Eagle. The story is told from the perspective of a raunchy old native man. Coyote climbs to the top of the mountain and jumps off. What we learn from Coyote is to be ourselves. My mom told us this story every time we passed the streak on the mountain.
